Tony's entrepreneurial journey started at the age of 16, and after dropping out of Auckland University, he started selling Ralph Lauren out of his basement in Epsom, New Zealand. His business quickly grew and he eventually opened New Zealand's first and biggest vintage store, Vintage Vintage, with three physical store locations. However, as market demand shifted towards limited-release streetwear and sneakers, Tony adapted his business model yet again to keep up with the trend. In 2019, he founded Prior, a platform that specialises in hard-to-find streetwear, sneakers, and accessories.

How Prior Became Prior?

Prior Store was previously known as Vintage Vintage, with three locations in Glenfield Mall, Riccarton Mall and on Ponsonby Road. Vintage Vintage specialised in importing rare and hard-to-find vintage pieces from iconic brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, and Guess.

Tony's decision to stock and sell the Sean Wotherspoon 97, the biggest release sneaker of 2018, at resell prices proved to be a pivotal moment for his business. The speed at which these shoes sold out highlighted a gap in the market that needed to be filled. Recognizing the potential, Tony pivoted his business in a new direction and opened Prior in 2019. With a focus on providing limited-release streetwear and sneakers, Prior quickly became a trusted source for fashion-forward consumers in New Zealand and Australia.
